Our head chef, JP Vives, and manager mother (momager) Pam Vives, opened up Free Bird in June of 2019, and now just three years later have the privilege of running the RBYC kitchen. Pam moved to Lumsden over 25 years ago, where she raised her three children JP, Trey and Matea, where you can find them helping out at the restaurant. Free Bird and the Brass Monkey is fuelled and supported by the members of the Vives clan and the fabulous Lumsden and Regina Beach locals.

Trained and established chef JP has an extensive knowledge and history with cooking. His dishes combine a plethora of flavours that combine to make a wonderfully satisfying meal.
